German Foreign Minister hails the Dresden Trust

dt1In a letter of 5th July 2016, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier acclaimed the work of the Dresden Trust for German-British reconciliation.

“In these difficult political times in Europe, which we are currently experiencing with respect to the recent British referendum, engagement by civil society is all the more important. You have been setting a good example for years, for which I cordially thank you and all those with you.”

The letter was sent to the Founder and Honorary President of the Dresden trust, Alan Russell, with thanks for a copy of the latter’s recent book on the history of the Trust.

Dresden Trust Chairman Eveline Eaton wrote back thanking the Minister and informing him that the Trust is co-financing a green area with seats on Dresden’s Neumarkt square opposite the rebuilt Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady).
